Nerds On Site spend the weekend (July 8-10) the Vancouver Island MusicFest! We sponsored the event and provided FREE wireless internet to those in attendance! We had over 565 devices connected overall, transferring over 40 GB during the first two days.
We are thrilled that in London volunteered to support Heart & Stroke’s BigBike event this year. Check out www.bigbike.ca and show your support in whatever way you can. Our SuperNerd Blair arranged for Nerds On Site nerdmobiles to lead the BigBike with nerdmobiles for the entire event, nerds involved are John M, Luis S, Emmet L, John H and John Harbarenko… I also look forward to helping out!
Does your company have a messy closet full of cables, servers, and other technology. Are you certain that you’re using all of that technology to it’s full potential? Do you have appliances using power, or not being used anymore, but still taking up space?
Last summer an existing client (an accountant) referred one of his clients (an auto body shop) who had had a local IT guy wipe and reload his PC and lose ALL of his business data in the process. I couldn’t get the data back but I did manage to restore an old backup and get the program reinstalled and working and then set him up on Nerds Backup.

I had an interesting on-site visit with a client today. He has been using an old 486 computer, but recently purchased a new Compaq computer because his new printer would not work with the 486. He got another company to transfer all the data to the new computer, but wasn’t satisfied with their service, and asked a friend, who referred me!
The Fill the Beetle to Feed the People event in Lethbridge this past weekend was a big success! Lethbridge area residents generously donated nearly 3 beetles with non-perishable food and cash donations! In return, SuperStore donated candy canes, chocolate cookies, and hot chocolate for those that donated!
The NLNC again was so happy that Nerds On Site were able to help us with our food drive again this year! We filled over 2 and a half beetles from all our willing donors, while we were parked in front of No Frills on Bloor Street in Oshawa.
I recently had an APPROVED proposal on the table for a Cisco Router, Untangle UTM (Unified Threat Management) and a Windows PDC/File Server.
Then came (Nerd) Alex Brown…we spoke about ClearOS and ClearBox300. I was amazed it could take the place of all this gear, so I checked with David Redekop (co-founder of Nerds On Site) out of my disbelief, and he confirmed all of it.
