The event was held on Feb. 9th. Donations were made by clicking on the prisoner link on the marchofdimesph.com homepage.
In addition to the live stream, updates, and photos were posted on Twitter and Facebook by the March of Dimes.
Our Port Huron Team also held a Fill The Beetle the same day to help the Hunter Hospitality House where families can stay when their kids are receiving medical care.
According to the MarchofDimesPH.com website:
“Get ready to be “locked up”. As a Prisoner you will be charged with a “crime”, arraigned in front of the judge and your bail will be set. You raise your bail money by contacting all of your friends, family and acquaintances and having them pledge dollars to keep you in, or get you out of jail. The Keystone Kops are ready to round up prisoners and take them on a “Jail Break” or two. Our Jail & Bail Event marks its 57th year in 2013 and boasts that it is has always been the largest Jail & Bail event in the nation.”
The 2013 March of Dimes AUCTION/DANCE was a BIG success!
Members of our Port Huron team also attended the March of Dimes Auction and Dance. Here’s what one of our Nerds, Dave Borgne, had to say:
“Over 300 people attended the event including Judges, Lawyers, The Sheriff and many local businesses. Cathy Martinek, the MOD Division Director, had T-Shirts made up, with “Nerds On Site” March of Dimes as a sponsor listed on the back to sell at the event. I ran the 50/50 raffle and brought in over $840 in sales!”
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated in making this year’s March of Dimes event in Port Huron a success. Nerds On Site is very proud to have been a part of it!
