On August 17th, McAfee released an update to it’s antivirus products that caused many computer to lose access to the internet. A fix for that update has since been released, but the experience has left a bad taste in the mouths of customers.

As of last week, Cisco began forcing it’s cloud-based router management service onto customers using some of it’s home-based routers.

As the Mac becomes more more and more popular, it becomes more of a target for hackers and other threats. That said, Windows is much more likely to be attacked, but as the saying goes – if you don’t have something to tell you your system is infected, how do you know? You won’t. So it’s best to have an antivirus for your Mac for peace of mind, if nothing else.

We agree and overall we’re thrilled about how education is entering a new phase, powered by intelligently-applied and practical use of technology. Not just for the sake of technology itself, but because it allows us to learn and understand more in a shorter period of time. As a father, I am very thrilled about my children being able to access iBooks textbooks.

Thousands of people will be downloading iOS5 today and excitedly activating the iCloud features, especially the iCloud Backup feature, which everyone should enable!
